Just after noon on Saturday, July 1st of 2017 I happened to be driving through a lonesome stretch of I-76 when the water pump on my 2004 Dodge Ram blew, taking with it the serpentine belt. A quick search on the internet and I began running down the list of mechanics and tow services, all of whom told me that even if they came out to tow my truck, they wouldn't be able to look at it until Monday.
All of them, that is, except Jared at Affordable Auto Repair. I knew that a tow plus a two day turnaround time to even look at my truck would kill my 4th of July itinerary, not to mention my budget. After his assistant Jimmy spent a few minutes on the phone with me diagnosing the problem, Jared came out and replaced both water pump and serpentine belt on the roadside by 3PM. My girlfriend and I continued on to our destination in Oregon, then spent another two weeks road tripping around the Western states from Washington to Arizona before heading back. We easily put another 3000+ miles on the truck without incident, in the July heat, a testament to the quality of Jared's workmanship and experience.
