We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The table the five of us were sitting was very dark. It was our 33 anniversary, we were out with our three adult children and really looking forward to a relaxing meal. Our waitress seemed liked she was in a rush right from the start and ready to get us out the door. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, which were very tasty, and the poutine which had little to no taste aside from the fries. Two of us ordered the chicken which was served with a corn purée, the corn seemed abnormally sweet and both daughters left it behind. The salmon was good, portion was small. My husband ordered the short ribs which he found salty, but good. My sirloin was very good, yet I do not understand the portion size of sixteen ounces. It fed all of us. Plates were whisked away.
I know I sound critical, but I am a professional chef, and pay great attention to the detail especially to a restaurant that likes to promote itself as being special. The decoration, is lovely, but turn up the lights, don't hide, take a breath and let your guests enjoy the surroundings and their food. Ask if they are here for something special. Breathe
