This is the first negative review I've ever written, which tells you the seriousness of my comments. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT do business with Gunnison County Abstract. The owner Gary, is a sexist pig who was so threatened by my intelligence that he was VERBALLY ABUSIVE and actually kicked me out of his office when I laughed at him for how ridiculous he was acting! I think it was because he was very embarrassed that he had made so many mistakes in the paperwork and I was pointing them out so that the closing documents would be accurate and correct. He repeatedly THREATENED me that we would not close. When I asked to speak with the closing agent, Kayla Lowery, she said she'd be happy to mail me the closing documents so that I wouldn't have to deal with Gary's abuse. She said the cost was included in the fee structure, when I offered to pay to have the documents mailed. Gary called back, SCREAMING, he was so enraged that I went to someone else to avoid his abuse. I called Dillon Waggoner, with whom I had had several wonderful conversations. He told me that Gary had said I was not to speak with anyone but him! Gary then proceeded to tell me that I had to apologize for laughing at him! I, of course, refused! He was so livid I thought the old hag was going to have a heart attack! He probably treats his wife abusively and thought he could get away with it with me!
I've dealt with Stewart Title in the past and they were very professional. I would recommend that if you're an intelligent woman, you'd be better served by going to Stewart or the other title company in Gunnison: First Gunnison Title and Escrow. Gary is a disgusting, abusive creature who needs to realize that there are ramifications for his egregious treatment of me and probably ANY intelligent woman that dare to point out his many, many mistakes!!! Avoid this FREAK at all costs!
