Zolo is a good upscale Mexican restaurant with modern takes on classic dishes. They have a decent, but not great happy hour and a nice, shaded patio to dine on. I've been to Zolo probably half a dozen times over the course of my life and we have always had good service and food. Sure, it's more expensive than other Mexican restaurants, but I would not agree with other reviews that claim it's over-priced. The quality of the food and ingredients are beyond what most Mexican restaurants offer, so it's not really fair to compare the cost of enchiladas here to the hole-in-the-wall across the street. The only problem that I've ever had at Zolo is that they wouldn't let our dog come onto the patio to eat. We talked to the manager and he said that nowhere in Boulder allows dogs on the patio, which is simply not true. Even Rincon Argentino a few hundred feet away allows dogs on their patio. I guess this is a general trend in Boulder that frustrates me--when I was growing up the city was a lot more dog friendly in general.
