It's a challenge in today's day and age to find a retail store that does not accept returns for merchandise purchased with a credit card. I found one: CB Paws. After making a leash and collar purchase I returned to my hotel. Out of curiosity, I looked at on-line pet retailers and found out that I paid a sixty percent premium for the items. I promptly attempted to return them to be told "our policy is to offer exchange or store credit only." The owner pointed out a posted sign at the register reflecting the store's policy. The sign is half the size of a post card and barely readable without magnification. I was duped. I could, of course, exchange the items for other wildly overpriced items.
With this said, once your card, debit, or cash is processed you have no recourse but to feel taken advantage of. The last refuge is to contact your bank or credit card company and ask them to void the transaction under their agreement with you and the retailer.
I have to believe that this store relies on the tourist traffic that is naive about the store policies, is never coming back to Aspen, or just gives up
resigning the purchase to a bad experience.
Let the buyer beware..................
