This is a very easy hike, which was great with my two year old. It cost $5 to park and the lot was nearly filled by 9:30 am on a beautiful Sunday in March. The trailhead is fairly well maintained with toilets, trash cans, and limited parking. While hiking we encountered a lot of dogs and mountain bikes as well as fellow hikers. There was a lot of evidence of horses too, though we didn't see any other trail. We did not see many animals, but we were hiking in mid morning... all we saw were a couple hawks and ground squirrels.
