It would be one thing to say I had a bad experience with this vet and to leave it at that, but I can’t. It’s not as simple as to say maybe the vet was having a bad day, but I doubt that was the case. We chose to go to the Ft Lupton clinic because people in our area had recommended them. We took our two mastiffs in for rabies shots and an exams. The vet entered the room rushed and it seemed like his attention was not with us or our concerns. The first dog begun to growl lightly and he said one more and we will put a muzzle on her – I thought to myself “Sure, do that and I won’t come back”. I stated she just needs to sniff you and she will be ok, he didn’t want to hear it and snapped at me about how his partner got bit. My dog has never show a sign of biting anyone, but this guy’s energy was wrong to begin with. He surely didn't need to snap at me. On to the other mastiff, who we were much more concerned about, she had a cyst on her back and was losing hair. When we asked him about those concerns, he stated the cyst was nothing if it wasn’t hurting her, and never acknowledged the hair loss, gave her the rabies shot and that was the last we saw him. What this vet didn’t know is that my father in law is a vet, who owned his own practice for over 50 years. My wife and I drove 1800 miles to see him and upon first look diagnosed the hair loss to a thyroid problem (we then had blood drawn to make sure that was the case) and now has to have a script for a thyroid medication. The cyst was so infected it needed to be lanced, cut up, cleaned and put on antibiotics for a week before it could be removed. All-in-all to say this vet left a bad taste in my mouth would be an understatement. He blew us off and didn’t care about the problems and concerns we had with our dogs. Maybe he should do really small animal, and if you have a large breed dog of any kind, I suggest taking them elsewhere.
No nonsense, very nice, and great price
